Arrive respectfully of yourself and the host, and there will be no problem.
You have to go just for the experience. Cash only so be prepared but definitely worth it!
It was a fun “chill” experience. I’ve read complaints about rude staff but everyone was just the opposite. A nice, quiet, place for drinks and discussion in a swanky atmosphere. If you’re looking for a noisy pickup or dive bar, this isn’t the place for you. It’s a great intimate spot to experience with friends or end of date night-cap (or beginning!). The rules are there so we can all have a good time; don’t be inconsiderate and there won’t be a problem.
This is a very very classy and beautiful place to have a romantic date night. It is a unique experience and atmosphere and I have great memories from when I go. It’s like going back in time. You feel removed from the world. The drinks are very special custom creations. Only come here if you are respectful and bring cash only, no cards. The rules of the establishment are there to help make the night more special and add to the experience. If you are stupid and can’t or won’t follow a few simple rules, go somewhere else.
The World’s Greatest North Korean Cocktail Bar.Convinced to join the North Korean military if I can have free drinks from Hop Sing daily. All bartenders and wait staff are well versed in helping you find your perfect drink based on your taste profile! I suggest being adventurous and trying them all, well worth it. Can’t wait until the location opens up again, the atmosphere takes you back in time a few decades for a cozy semi-intimate speakeasy to enjoy the evening!Amazing drinks. Great staff, and Lê is a very funny guy, follow his simple rules, and you will avoid the North Korean firing squad another night!Keep your inferior imperialist American values at home when visiting, or face our Supreme Leader’s wrath. USA USA USA!
My wife and I have been frequent visitors of the worlds greatest North Korean cocktail bar since it opened. After a brief interrogation and with a proper escort at all times, entrance was granted and some of the best cocktails dear leader allows to be prepared are served. Le uses the best liquor that our authoritarian government (PLCB) will permit. We once ordered off-menu and, despite the mandatory re-education camp, we were well rewarded in the end. With the chaos of a global pandemic, Le has rolled with the punches in the form of pop-up bars around the city. While the scenery may have changed and the banned list temporarily disbanded, poor tipping and inconsiderate abandon of mask wearing (quite literally the LEAST anyone could do) is a sure-fire way to earn yourself a private tour of a true NoKo labor camp (where you are forced to drink PBR and White Claws).Oh and this review is offered under no duress or coercion from dear leader. #NoHateMail
